Chair Erickson opened the hearing on HB 2745

Staff provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 12)

Proponents:

Master Sgt. Eugene Bradley, Non commissioned Officer in Charge of Legislative Affairs, on behalf of Michael T. Venerdi, Brigadier General, Kansas National Guard, The Adjutant General, provided testimony in support of the bill. (Attachment 2)  The bill would help with any future Base Realignment and Closure efforts when it comes to retaining current missions and force structure.

Jason Watkins on behalf of the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce, spoke in support of the bill. (Attachment 3) The bill would exempt the spouses of active-duty military members from all application, licensing, registration, certification, and or permit fees associated with an occupational license.

Amanda Wilbert, President of the Auxiliary presented the written testimony provided by Nichole E. Inskeep. (Attachment 4) The bill is a step forward in supporting Military Spouses and limits the stress on moving families.

Larry Karns, Executive Director of the Board of Technical Professions, provided neutral testimony. (Attachment 10) The House amended the bill and Board of Technical Professions support the amended bill.
