1AN ACT concerning alcoholic beverages; relating to days and hours of
2sales; authorizing the sale of alcoholic beverages 24 hours a day, seven
3days a week for the duration of the FIFA 2026 world cup.

5Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Kansas:
6Section 1. (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of K.S.A. 41-712, 41-
72614, 41-2653, 41-2704 and 41-2911, and amendments thereto, for the
8duration of the FIFA 2026 world cup commencing on June 11, 2026, and
9continuing through July 19, 2026, any entity licensed under the Kansas
10liquor control act, the club and drinking establishment act or the Kansas
11cereal malt beverage act that is authorized to sell alcoholic liquor or cereal
12malt beverage in the original package or for consumption on the premises
13may sell alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage in accordance with the
14applicable statutes and rules and regulations governing the sale of such
15alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage by such licensee between the
16hours of 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on the immediately following day.
17(b) The board of county commissioners of any county may, by
18resolution, or the governing body of any city may, by ordinance, elect to
19not allow the sale of alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage as described
20in subsection (a). Upon the adoption of any such resolution or ordinance,
21the days and hours of sales of alcoholic liquor and cereal malt beverage in
22such jurisdiction shall be those prescribed by K.S.A. 41-712, 41-2614, 41-
232653, 41-2704 and 41-2911, and amendments thereto.
24(c) As used in this section, "FIFA 2026 world cup" means the
25international soccer tournament conducted every four years that is
26organized by the federation internationale de football association and set to
27be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico in 2026.
28(d) The provisions of this section shall expire from and after July 20,
292026.
30Sec. 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its
31publication in the Kansas register.
