Chairperson Bowers opened final action on SB2. Charles Reimer, staff revisor, reviewed the bill.
Senator Clifford distributed an amendment and requested Mr. Reimer explain the balloon amendment. (Attachment 1) Mr. Reimer distributed HB2191-Authorizing legal publications to be made on internet websites selected by the governing body of a city, county or school district as an example of cities or counties designating whether they want a website or a newspaper to be their official publication. (Attachment 2) Mr. Reimer addressed questions from the Committee.
Senator Clifford moved, Senator Blew seconded, to adopt the balloon amendment. Discussion ensued. After Mr. Reimer addressed questions from the Committee. Chairperson Bowers noted SB2 has been dually referred and will go to the Senate Ways and Means Committee for a second hearing. Motion carried. Senator Claeys voted no, and requested his vote be recorded.
Senator Clifford moved, Senator Blew seconded, to recommend SB2 as amended, favorably for passage. Motion carried. Senator Claeys voted no, and requested his vote be recorded.
Mr. Reimer indicated the amendment will also require some technical amendments to the title and also to the repealing section of the bill.
