Kelsey Olson, Depurty Director, Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) spoke in support of the bill. (Attachment 5) The KDA Weights and Measures Program is a requlatory program that ensures the accuracy of commercial "weighing and measuring devices" such as scales and fuel pumps. This is an essential element of consumer protection and is one of the oldest government functions. Brings electric vehicle service equipment under the purview of the act to ensure uniformed standards and provide consumer protection.
