The Chair opened the hearing on HB2467.

Chris Waggoner, Assistant Revisor, Office of Revisor of Statutes, provided the committee with a briefing on this bill.(Attachment 13)

Marilyn Harp brought to the committee proponent verbal testimony for the bill requesting a technical amendment to supply wording required by Kansas Department of Revenue to have the effect intended by (2024) SB500 and passage of the bill. (Attachment 14)

Dr. Walt Chappell gave testimony in support of HB2467  and offered an amendment. (Attachment 15)

Lacey Black presented neutral testimony to the passage of the bill in that it would result in the Kansas Division of Vehicles need to update the system and processes in order to comply with the change. The Division of Vehicles would ask that the phrase "in determining suspend or restrict driving privileges" stay in the paragraph of the bill.  (Attachment 16)
