Chairperson Bowers opened the hearing on SB436.  Jason Long, staff revisor, provided a briefing on the bill and addressed questions from the Committee.  (Attachment 3)

Tania Cole testified in support of SB436.  Ms. Cole indicated the recommended increase would allow counties to act with speed and efficiency in addressing smaller construction projects.  Ms. Cole explained the $100,000 threshold is an appropriate measure in requiring moderate to larger construction projects to go through the competitive bidding process  Ms. Cole addressed questions from the Committee.  (Attachment 4)
