Mr. Siebers provided an overview for SB303 that provides a countywide retailers' sales tax authority for Labette, Leavenworth, Lincoln and Sheridan Counties.(Attachment 16)

Mr. Siebers stood for questions from Committee members.

Vanessa Reid, Commissioner, Leavenworth County, testified as a proponent for SB303 for a special 0.25 percent sales tax in Leavenworth County for emergency communication. The county would like to put a ballot initiative forward for a 0.25 percent sales tax to fund the current maintenance and future replacement of the emergency communication system. (Attachment 17)
