Representative Brian Bergkamp testified in support of the bill. (Attachment 2) This bill helps with creating a new path that reduces costs for future potential Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and benefits all Kansans. This does not dilute the quality of CPAs and keeps Kansas competitive with surrounding states and the trends we see on licensure requirements

Aron Dunn, CPA, Kansas Board of Accountancy, provided proponent testimony. (Attachment 3) This bill is intended to expand the opportunities available to persons who wish to become practicing certified public accountants. The Board is supportive of HB2573 and the Kansas Society of CPAs efforts in that regard.

Becky Shaw, CPA, Kansas Society of CPAs, testified in support of the bill. (Attachment 4) This bill is a balanced solution that protects the public, creates opportunities for students to become CPAs, and helps ensure Kansas has a strong, sustainable CPA workforce for decades to come
