Chairperson Gossage introduced Rebecca Gerhardt who testified in support of the bill. (Attachment10) Director Gerhardt asked the committee to support the bill because it will allow families the opportunity to continue caring for children in foster care as a licensed home and continue to support youth in young adulthood.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Angela Hedrick who spoke in support of the bill. (Attachment11) (Attachment12) Ms. Hedrick testified the bill supports what we know works in child welfare: stability, long-term relationships and youth-centered decision-making. She urged support for the bill.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Kristalle Hedrick who voiced her support for the bill. (Attachment13) Ms. Hedrick testified the bill is a reasonable, child-centered update to statute that reflects how foster care works in real life. She urged the committee support the bill.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Kerrie Lonard who testified in support of the bill. (Attachment14) She stated the bill is a common-sense policy that prioritizes the stability and success of Kansas foster youth. She urged the committee to support the bill.

Chairperson Gossage introduced Jonathan Stahl, who spoke in support of the bill. (Attachment15) He testified foster children desperately deserve love, a chance, and a forever family. He urged the committee to support the bill.
