Chairperson Petersen opened the Hearing on HB2467. Adam Siebers gave a bill explanation. (Attachment 1) He answered questions from committee members.

Lacey Black, KDOR, gave neutral testimony. She stated that HB2467 makes a small, technical amendment to changes made to (2024)SB500. It is the division's understanding that this bill will impact the withdrawn driving privileges and not the fines or fees owed by the courts that are associated with the failure to comply with the traffic citation. The person will still be responsible for paying the court costs, but their driving privileges will no longer be affected after 5 years. (Attachment 2)

Marilyn Harper, Kansas Legal Service gave testimony in support of HB2467. She said HB2467 is a technical amendment to supply wording required by KDOR to have the effect intended by (2024)SB500. (Attachment 3)
