The Chair opened final action on SB353  designating the official Kansas hall of fame for the purpose of celebrating Kansas heritage. 

Representative Ohaebosim presented an amendment to the bill, that one member appointed by the sheet metal, air, railroad association  and transportation workers union  is to be appointed by the governor for a term of two years. (Attachment 3)

Representative Ohaebosim moved, seconded by Representative Hoheisel, to approve the amendment.  Motion carried.

Representative Hoheisel, Representative Hoye, Representative Essex, Representative Delperdang,  Representative Collins and Chair Francis asked that their yes vote be recorded to this amendment. 

A second amendment to SB353 was presented by Representative Anderson that of the two representatives of the public who are or have been employed in the railroad industry as described in section 2 (5) of the bill,  of such members one member shall be appointed by the president of the senate and one member shall be appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives. (Attachment 4)

Representative Anderson moved, seconded by Representative Hoheisel, to approve the amendment. Motion carried.

Representative Essex moved, seconded by Representative Ohaebosim, to pass SB353 favorably as amended.   Motion carried.
