Dr. Cris Fanning, Executive Director, Programs and Risk Reduction, Kansas Department of Corrections. (Attachment 11) Conferee supported the bill because it provides a critical bridge for former incarcerated individuals with documents to transition back into the community. Department of Corrections is partnering with Division of Motor Vehicles to go to corrections facilities to insure former inmates have their driver's license when person is released from correction facility.
