The chair opened the hearing on HB2220.
Chris Waggoner, Assistant Revisor of Statutes, provided a briefing to the bill. (Attachment 1)
Representative Francis Awerkamp, District # 61, gave proponent testimony supporting HB2220 as the bill allows for flexibility in adjusting minor speed limits on city streets in residential areas without incurring the additional cost of an engineering study and the lengthy process that comes with it. (Attachment 2)
Wendi Stark of the League of Kansas Municipalities gave proponent testimony in support of HB2220 that would reduce the maximum speed limit to 25 miles per hour in some respective residential districts which would promote safety on city streets and promote a savings in cost. (Attachment 3)
Sherri Grogan gave supporting written only testimony to the bill.(Attachment 4)
