Proponent
Kristey Williams, State of Kansas Representative, 77th District, provided proponent testimony. She stated this bill makes necessary updates to the transparency database which passed in 2019 to improve transparency and understanding with the ultimate goal of encouraging better policy decisions and greater accountability. (Attachment 8)
Opponent
Michael Koss, City Attorney, City of Overland Park, testified as an opponent to the bill. He addressed the concerns on:
1. Section 1(b)(6)(J) and asks for it to be stricken in its entirety or amended to only include legitimate economic development activities
2. Local governments are provided more than 30 days to produce the extensive data required by this legislation.
