Chairperson Proctor opened the hearing on HB2448 and recognized Mike Heim, Office of Revisor of Statutes who presented summary of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Chairperson Proctor stated there will be an amendment for this bill forthcoming which will include description of how non-citizens will be designated in addition to putting non-citizen on it and also to have portrait. The purpose of the bill is if a person goes to vote and presents non-citizen ID the poll worker must give a provisional ballot rather than a regular ballot. The person must verify that they have since become a citizen before their ballot will be counted. (Attachment 2)
