The hearing on SB316 was opened by Chairperson Dietrich. Revisor Eileen Ma gave an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Brock Roehler of the Office of the State Bank Commissioner (OSBC) spoke as a proponent of the bill (Attachment 2). He state the bill would allow the OSBC to establish a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that would fund consumer financial education initiatives. The funding came from a $1.6 million settlement. He stood for questions from the Committee. Christy Hanshaw who is the Fund Manager for Consumer Affairs for the OSBC also addressed questions from the Committee.
The hearing on SB316 was closed.
