Short Title

Requiring a valid upland game bird stamp prior to taking any upland game bird in this state, except on private land, establishing the upland game bird restoration fund and requiring the department of wildlife and parks to use moneys from such fund for the procurement and release of upland game birds.

Chairperson Rahjes opened the hearing on HB2547 and asked Revisor Kyle Hamilton, Office of Revisor of Statutes, to give an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)

Research analyst, Heather O'Hara, gave the fiscal report on the bill.

Chairperson Rahjes acknowledged Representative Shawn Chauncey, 65th District, Kansas House of Representatives, to present Proponent testimony on HB2547(Attachment 2)  Representative Chauncey stood for questions.

Proponent-Written Only testimony was received from:

Kris W. Kobach, Kansas Attorney General, Office of Attorney General (Attachment 3)

Chairperson Rahjes called upon Kurt Ratzlaff, on behalf of Kansas Outdoor Heritage Alliance, to give Opponent testimony. (Attachment 4)  Mr. Ratzlaff answered questions.
