Tax Credit for Low Income Students Scholarship Program Report

Kansas State Department of Education (Attachment 1).

Amendment 1. Representative Estes moved, seconded by Representative Steele to amend HB2468, on page 2, in line 34, after "(3)" by inserting "On January 15, 2027, and each January 15 thereafter, the secretary shall submit a report to the legislature on the aggregate amount of credits claimed during the immediately preceding tax year and the limit on such credits for the current
year. Motion carried.

Amendment 1. Representative Estes moved, seconded by Representative Steele to pass HB2468 as amended. Motion carried.

Amendment 2. Representative Estes moved, seconded by Representative Steele to amend HB2468 on page 1, line 20, after the period by inserting "No state department, division, or other agency from promulgating any rules and regulations that are more stringent than the applicable federal law or rules and regulations in implementing this section".

Amendment 2. Representative Estes moved, seconded by Representative Steele to pass HB2468 as amended. Motion carried.

Amendment 3. Representative Featherston moved, seconded by Representative Stoggsdill to amend HB2468 to require any school receiving these fees to accept every student. Motion failed.

Representative Hubert moved, seconded by Representative Goetz to pass HB2468 as amended. Motion carried.
