Carly Choi, Revisor of Statutes (Attachment 5) gave an overview of the bill. She explained that the bill would direct the state registrar of vital statistics to provide death certificates to survivors of deceased veterans with a service-connected disability that state in such certificates the relationship between the cause of death and the service-connected disability of such veterans.
Mike Kelly, President, Military Officers Association of America (Attachment 6) testified as a proponent to the bill. He explained that the bill would assist survivors to obtain complete and accurate death certificates. The result would be more approved Dependency and Indemnity Compensation claims and a better safety net for survivors.
Chairman James closed the bill on HB2732.
