Representative James opened HB2758.

Carly Choi, Revisor of Statutes(Attachment 7) gave an overview of the bill.  She explained.that the bill would direct the capitol preservation committee to develop and approve plans for a registry kiosk of Kansas Military forces killed in action or who died of wounds incurred during active duty to be place within the state capitol.

Representative Weigel testified as a proponent (Attachment 8) to the bill. He explained that the bill would provide a registry kiosk to be placed in the Visitor Center of the Capitol for the purpose of memorializing all Kansas military forces killed in action of died of wounds from World War 1 to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Chairman James closed the hearing on HB2758.

Representative Bloom moved, seconded by Representative Chauncey to approve minutes dated 1/29/2026 and 2/3/2026.  Motion passed.
