Chair Baumgardner called the Committee to work SB387 by asking Tamera Lawrence, Revisor, Office of the Revisor of Statutes, to review the bill for the Committee.
The Chair asked for a motion to either pass out the bill or to work it. Senate Minority Leader Dinah Sykes made a motion to work the bill and requested an amendment concerning transportation for non-resident student. Senator Pettey seconded the motion. The motion passed on a voice vote. (Attachment 1)
Senator Erickson proposed amending the bill by, on page 2, line 12, inserting a deadline for notification of acceptance or denial and the process of appeal. Senator Erickson moved, Senator Pettey seconded, to adopt the proposed amendment. The motion passed on a voice vote. (Attachment 2)
Senator Blasi moved, Senator Gossage seconded, to recommend SB387, as amended, favorably for passage. The motion passed on a voice vote.
