47-434. As used in this act: (a) "Commissioner" means the state animal health commissioner; (b) "brand inspection area" means any county which has been designated as such by the board of county commissioners of such county in the manner provided by K.S.A. 47-435, and amendments thereto; (c) "resident owner of cattle" means any resident of a county who has owned one or more head of cattle at any time during the 12 preceding months; (d) "brand inspection" means the inspection of brands, marks and other identifying characteristics of cattle or sheep, or both, for the purpose of determining the ownership thereof; and (e) "person" means any individual, firm, association, partnership or corporation. |
