The Chair opened the hearing on SB398, Assistant Revisor Ma gave an overview of the bill and stood for questions. (Attachment 10).
Eric Turek, Kansas Department of Insurance gave proponent testimony for this bill that amends multiple statutes that govern fees and fines under current law. This bill grants the commission of insurance the flexibility to lower more than 100 statutory insurance licensure fees; anticipating an annual savings to industry of $1.2 million. (Attachment 11).
